Why Trying Rambutan Fruit is a Must-Try Experience

Why Trying Rambutan Fruit is a Must-Try Experience

I had been seeing this weird looking fruit over Tiktok last year, it was going viral. Ya'll know I like to try new foods, but living in a small town I couldn't find rambutan in any of the only 3 grocery stores we have in my town so I just gave up and forgot about it then. Then a few days ago when me and my husband were grocery shopping, he saw the fruit sitting right there by the strawberries and he asked me was I going to review it and I said yeah I might as well try it.

From the outside, it looks like a sea urchin to me lol. It just looks creepy like a porcupine or something, no disrespect. I finally tried it and did a review video for Facebook. I looked up multiple videos on YouTube on how to open it and eat it, but come to find out, the exact instructions were right there on the package the whole time, silly me.

Now for the taste and five senses.

Taste: To me, it tastes very much like a grape, it sweet in a subtle way and tastes best when it is cold

Look: The outside is totally different from the inside. The outside has a hard shell with those hairs sticking out, as I was surprised that the hairs sticking out don't poke you because they are softer than I expected. The inside has a soft white fleshy fruit that has the same texture as a grape, inside of this ovular fruit is a pit that you have dispose of (only eat the white fleshy part of the fruit).

Smell: Not much of a smell, just a sweet smell.

Feel: Hard shell with soft prickly hairs

Sound: Makes a soft cracking sound when you crack the shell open.

Overall, this is pretty cool and something different to try, I encourage you to try it, thanks for reading.
